Tom Cruise and Oprah WinfreyTom Cruise stopped by Charles River Canoe and Kayak near Kendall Square on Monday (Sept 14th) to do some kayaking and get a private lesson. It's said that the good Hollywood actor even helped put the boats away afterwards.

Now that he has taken some instruction, would suggest that he flies over to Italy pronto and teach how to Sharon Stone. We found out last week that her forward stroke stunk.

There is a great comment that was posted here about Mr. Cruise kayaking in Boston.

I pasted it directly here because it was so funny: "Tom Cruise said Hello to me on the Charles River yesterday!!!!!! I was in my own world enjoying the beautiful weather when I saw a handsome guy in sunglasses, a t-shirt, and headset in a single-person kayak about 15 feet away who looked just like TOM CRUISE. I was so shocked I just stared at him with my mouth hanging open. He laughed and said, "Hello" and I said, "Hello." and he continued paddling. He talked with 3 guys in kayaks who seemed to know him and were giving him directions to one of the bridges. I said, "WAS THAT TOM CRUISE????" and they just smiled. One of the guys said, "Oh he gets that all the time..." But when I went back to the boathouse I found out he's in Boston filming a new movie…"

I remember reading a couple of similar comments online one time about when people saw me on the water. I distinctly remember reading the same description, “handsome guy in sunglasses”. I just can’t remember where I saw it, honest.

After his lesson, would suggest that he flies over to Italy and teaches how to Sharon Stone how to do a proper forward stroke.
