steepandcheap.com iPhone AppWhat paradox do the majority of paddlers have in common? We all like expensive gear and we are cheap to buy it.

To solve that problem enter the website, steepandcheap.com. Their motto is, “One killer deal, one item at a time until it’s gone.”

Built on a similar idea as woot.com, steepandcheap.com offers up high end gear at fairly cheap prices. For example, for the next 10 minutes, they are offering a Mammut Alverstone Jacket 2 ply waterproof jacket for only $93.99. That’s 53% off the regular price of $198.

The fun thing about the site is they only offer one thing for sale at a time and you never know what’s coming up next. The problem is that you are forced to keep dropping in on the website compulsively all day to make sure you don’t miss anything good. To help you (and their sales) out, steepandcheap.com developed a variety of tools to monitor the site for you including desktop widgets, a firefox plugin and an iPhone app. Now you can let their tools do the work and alert you when something good just came up cheap.
