Kayaker makes historic journey around Florida

A big congrats to sea kayaker, Matthew Keene who, on Monday, became the first person to kayak around the perimeter of Florida when we competed his journey in Big Lagoon State Park in Perdido Key.

He is the first person to completely paddle the 1,600 miles of the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail which was set up in 2007.

On Monday, Keene was honoured with gifts from the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce and a proclamation from County Commissioner Gene Valentino citing Keene's accomplishment as a step forward for Florida ecotourism.
