They got a panic-stricken voice claiming that he was a canoeist near the Isle of Wight and he was drowning.

Authorities believe he is the same gentleman who called in several other hoaxes in the same area over the past couple of months.

What’s really disturbing in this case is that they had to turn down two calls for help from the Hampsire police because they were to busy with the search and rescue operation.

The BBC has released the audio of the emergency call in hopes that somebody will recognize so the police can catch the fool. When they do catch him, the consequences for calling in a hoax can be severe as we found out a month ago.

It’s super important that search and rescue are always ready to jump into action because you will never know when you might find yourself holding on to a capsized kayak waiting anxiously for help while sharks are circling you. Yes, it happened yesterday in Mossel Bay, South Africa.
