Sad news kids, the Love Boat (aka Pacific Princess) has been sold off for scrap to a Turkish ship breaking company for 2.5 million Euros.

If your hair isn’t grey then you probably haven’t heard of the greater then awesome TV show, The Love Boat which ran on ABC from 1977 to 1986. I remember watching it when I was a kid and wanted to take a cruise with them every Saturday night.

Isaac Washington from the Love BoatThe Pacific Princess whose name now is the M/V Pacific has run into trouble as of late. Back in 1998 it was impounded in Greece after 25kg of heroin was found on board. At the time the BBC reported that it had become a major tool for drug smugglers in the Mediterranean.

Then in 2009 she was seized by the Italian Coast Guard over failure to pay a large repair bill by its owners. To pay off the debt the boat was put up for auction both in 2010 and 2011 but failed to sell.

All I know is that Isaac Washington would not be impressed that his beloved bar is about to be turned into scrap.
