Watch these Kayakers Get a Free Ride on the Back of a Whale

Tuesday, 22 July 2014

Check out this super dramatic footage of two kayakers in a double kayak getting lifted up by a whale. You got to see it to believe it.

According to the Youtube title this took place near Puerto Madryn, Argentina.

Ok, I got two opinions about this.

1) Holy crap, what are those kayakers doing paddling that close to whales? Like many other parts of the world, Argentina has rules about how close power and non-motorized boats can get to whales. For example, no boats may approach mothers and their young until after August 31 and after that you must keep at least 50 meters distance from any whales. Clearly they broke the rules and putting at least themselves in risk. Likely the whales as well but I don’t speak whale so I couldn’t understand them watching the video (same with the paddlers).

2) Holy crap, this is the craziest footage ever! The paddlers are doing a pretty good job keeping calm. I’m pretty confident to say that I would absolutely be freaking out.
