P&H LogoSad news in the kayak world today. 15 P&H Sea Kayaks kayaks destined for international competitors including the Great Britain canoe polo team were stolen this week from the P&H storage site. The loss is valued at £16,000 not including a trailer worth £3,000.

Company manager, Perran Shreeve said, "The burglary has really set us back and I'm now in the process of contacting all the customers to tell them what's happened, as we'll now have to make all the canoes again."

"We're devastated. I can't believe they took so many. Whoever has stolen the canoes had cut the lock on the store and then cut the fence before driving out."

P&H said that all of the stolen kayaks were custom made to order and are appealing to the paddling community to keep an eye out for anybody trying to unload the canoes.

"All the canoes are really distinctive so would be difficult to sell on. One of them was black and pink while another was blue and yellow - the colours used by Bath University."

Anybody with information should contact Derbyshire police on 0345 123 3333 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
