Calling all riders! Calling all filmmakers! The Georgian Bay eXtreme Sports Film Festival announces a call for video entries.

The new Georgian Bay extreme Sports Film Festival (GBX Film Festival) is inviting independent, amateur and professional filmmakers to send in their DVDs.  The festival will showcase the talents of both extreme sports enthusiasts as well as the skills of filmmakers.  The festival is extending the call for entries further than the shores of Georgian Bay to the entire Great Lakes Region and beyond.

"Recently there has been an explosion of DIY films that are ending up on YouTube and other online networks.  The festival wants to capture this ‘pioneering spirit' and actually bring people together under one roof for the festival", states festival coordinator Isaiah Walters.

It is free to enter the festival and the entrants will have the chance to win either the Jury's Prize or the People's Choice Award. The festival is seeking films that are ideally 1 to 20 minutes long.  The deadline for entry is July 1st, 2009.  Filmmakers who wish to share their films will have an eager audience when the screenings take place in the Collingwood area at the end of September 2009.  For more information or to download an entry form visit www.gbxfest.com.
