(Steamboat Springs, Colo.) - Big Agnes, manufacturer of award-winning sleeping bags, pads and tents, enters its seventh year of business reporting record sales growth. Additionally, brand recognition is stronger than ever, as Big Agnes has earned several of the outdoor industry’s most coveted awards for new product in 2007.

Bill Gamber, President/Co-Founder of Big Agnes, remarks, "Overall sales to date are up 67% over last year. We are seeing this growth in sales not only with the new Emerald Mountain and Big House tent series, but also with our sleeping bags and pads as well. The growth we've seen in tents rounds out the entire Big Agnes brand and positions us as a leader in the camping category."

In Outside Magazine’s 2007 Buyer’s Guide, Big Agnes’ Emerald Mountain SL2 tent is honored with a Gear of the Year award. The Emerald Mountain SL3 tent won Best All-Around and Editors’ Choice from Backpacker in its respective March 2007 Gear Guide and April issues. These tents combine the benefits of their lightest free-standing tents with roomy interiors and two opposing doors and vestibules. In February, the SeedHouse SL2 tent was awarded an Editors’ Choice from Blue Ridge Outdoors.

Also featured as a recipient of Green Gear of the Year in Outside Magazine’s Buyer’s Guide is the Big Agnes Battle Mountain -15° sleeping bag. The Battle Mountain features Bamboo Charcoal Synthetic Insulation, an Eco-friendly, synthetic insulation derived from bamboo. Big Agnes is also one of the first tent manufacturers to develop tents with DAC Featherlite NSL Poles, which are anodized using the most environmentally friendly process available. These poles are used in the acclaimed Emerald Mountain SL and Seedhouse SL tent series.

"We have implemented many key initiatives this year which have enabled us to ramp up our production capacities," says Gamber. "Our focus will be on continuing to grow while still offering excellent customer service and delivering product on time to our growing network of dealers."
