Bryan HanselHow is this for a huge trip? On May 5th, Brian Hansel is going try to become the first person to circumnavigate all 5 of the great lakes in a kayak. The journey is 3,800 miles and will take 5 months to complete.

"With this trip, I plan to call attention to the increasing pressure placed on this area and highlight the world-class paddling opportunities. I believe that by increasing paddlesport participation, we will advance resource and wilderness protection," Hansel said.

If you want to follow along, he will be updating his blog at as well as post regular updates via twitter (@bryanhansel).
